The first 2 papers focus on pure mathematics. Pure mathematics can test students on things like matrices, further vectors, further calculus, proof, hyperbolic functions, and differential equations. And this isn’t all! The second 2 papers include optional content. Students can choose different modules including further pure mathematics, further mechanics, further statistics, and decision mathematics.
Each of the 4 papers is 1 hour and 30 minutes for Edexcel, although this may differ for other exam boards. As you can probably see, there is lots of content to get through, and this subject has a substantial workload and you may want to consider attending a half term a level maths revision courses. Only the most intelligent and hardworking students can usually succeed in this subject. It is very academically demanding and not many students actually take it because of this reason. However, it is incredibly respected due to its difficult nature. It is widely recognised by universities and employers all over the country. For this reason, it could help you succeed in the future if you do well in it.
